Biography

While attending Ferris State College in 1981, Rick gave his first golf lesson to a group of students for a beginning golf class.  He continued to learn his trade from the best golf instructors in the industry while pursuing his dream of becoming a PGA Golf Professional.  In 1986, he graduated from Ferris State College’s Professional Golf Management Program.  In 1987, Rick was elected into membership of the Professional Golfer’s Association as a “Class A” member.

Rick has been following his passion teaching golf for over 28 years which started in his home state of Michigan, continued to Connecticut then to Florida and finally settling in Denver, Colorado.  He also had the wonderful experience, in 1998, as Director of Caribbean Operations aboard two cruise lines; Celebrity Cruise Lines and Costa Cruise Lines.  Rick instructed while aboard ship and set up tournaments and playing lessons throughout the islands of the Caribbean.

This past winter he taught in Central Florida for one of Golf Magazine’s "Best Golf Schools in America".

As a past Junior Golf Chairman within the North Florida Section, Rick has been teaching junior golfers of all ages for over 20 years.  His teaching philosophy is simple, “Building a fundamentally sound base, allows the student to develop consistency, balance, and ultimately more fun playing the game”.   Rick has instructed all types of golfers from the “scratch” player to the “beginner” and also has extensive experience with Video Swing Analysis.
